What You See Is What You Get HTML Editing
If you have used traditional in-page html WYSIWYG editor you have found many of the difficulties of adding images, getting decent spell checking, switching between html and editor mode and on and on. If you haven't used Windows Live Writer yet you are in for a big surprise. MvcCms is designed to allow editing of all pages with Windows Live Writer. Some of the benefits are.
- Offline page creation with locally saved drafts
- Site styles are imported so that the page being edited looks in the editor like it will when published.
- Images are automatically linked to and uploaded, no more searching for images on the server or hand typing image paths. Also auto thumbnail and full-size links are quick and easy.
- Inline spell checking just like in Word.
| Use the Metaweblog API and enter the service page wlwmvccms.ashx as the remote posting URL and now your entire CMS is editable with Windows Live Writer. | |
Also for convenience sake on quick edits when logged in as editor you will see the green universal page is editable button in the top left corner . Clicking this button takes you to a simple streamlined page that has its entire focus on giving you room to work the content with the built in rich editor (with working photo gallery!).

Update: The live writer integration is working on the new 2010 2.0 version of MvcCms, this edit was done with wlw!
